Joan Inglis, owner of Carolina Spaces, LLC, recently won a 2011 STARS Award for Best Interior Merchandising (under $250k) from North Carolina Home Builders Association. Inglis has won several state and local design awards, and professional recognition in the past year.

Owner Joan Inglis, an Accredited Staging Professional Master® and Membership Director of International Association of Home Staging Professionals®, received the STARS Award for Best Interior Merchandising (under 250k) at an awards gala in September.
Inglis’ entry was a floor-to-ceiling pine, log cabin vacation home located in the mountains of North Carolina. Inglis furnished the empty home with natural fabrics, materials, and nature-inspired colors throughout. When Inglis’ award was announced, the presenter said her entry “proved less is more.”
Since the fall of 2010, Inglis has won six professional awards. In addition to her 2011 STARS Award for Best Interior Merchandising (under $250k), she recently won the Pinnacle Award for Best Interior Merchandising from Home Builders Association of South Carolina. Earlier this year, Inglis won the People’s Choice Award for Best Room in Our Towns Habitat for Humanity 2011 Designer’s Challenge. Charlotte Magazine named Inglis a 2011 Five Star Professional in Customer Satisfaction, a title she also won in 2009.
Inglis is no stranger to the NCHBA STARS Awards, having won in 2010 for Best Special Project, Marketing, for a vacant custom home she furnished and put on public tour for charity. Lake Norman Home Builders Association recognized Inglis for her work on various committees, naming her its 2010 Rookie Member of the Year.
Inglis was personally trained in home staging by Barb Schwarz, The Creator of Home Staging®, and founder of StagedHomes.com® and IAHSP®. Inglis is also an interior designer, and a licensed Realtor® in NC and SC with CD Realty.
