Great News from the NAR NARdiGras Conference and Expo 2010

What a great time I had at the 2010 NAR Convention in New Orleans! I enjoyed speaking with so many REALTORS® and brokers who share my passion for Home Staging and those who want to know more about how to better position and market Home Staging to their clients. While at NARdiGras 2010, I not only gave my NAR presentation as a keynote speaker, entitled “From Staging to Pricing to Getting It Sold”, but I also had the pleasure to be featured in the Lowes Booth to give several 15-minute ASP® Home Staging Tip sessions at the NAR Expo. During my keynote presentation I shared tips on how to better educate people on Home Staging, pricing Staged Homes and the entire process of listing, showing, selling, and closing the transaction. Home Staging was of course the main feature of my talk. I shared my steps to Stage a Room, my Home Staging Guidelines, 10 of my top Home Staging Sayings, How to work with ASP® Stagers, How to use Staging as a main part of their CMA, how to use my Home Pricing triangle and ideas to add to their marketing plans as well as how to better educate all sellers from the very beginning on all steps. The audience was very engaged and I could tell many will now go back to their businesses energized and committed to adding the concept of Home Staging in their listing presentations, CMAs, and their overall approach to doing business. Speaking from my background as real estate agent and broker, which was my profession before inventing and creating the Staging industry in the early 1970s, I also shared my views on what I feel REALTORS® can do to educate people in their listing presentations. While Staging is essential in every market, the state of today’s rather challenging housing market makes it even more important to truly educate consumers on Staging. In fact, during my visit at NARdiGras I was interviewed by REALTOR® Magazine about my take on the marketplace as the Creator of the Staging industry, and the changes I see in today’s economy. Speaking at NAR’s annual conference is an honor and also a wonderful opportunity for me to share Staging with real estate professionals from around the country and even the world. I have had the pleasure of speaking at NAR’s annual conference a number of years, and every year it is with great excitement that I have the opportunity to meet with so many great REALTORS® and brokers who remain committed to their businesses and their clients.  I was also so very excited to meet a number of ASP® REALTORS® and ASP® Stagers who attended this year’s NAR Conference and Expo in New Orleans!
