How to Disguise Unsightly Home Appliances in Plain Sight

There are necessary appliances in your home that may prove to be unsightly. You don’t have to just live with the situation. Here are some ideas that you can use in order to disguise those unsightly home appliances around your home.

Invest in Cabinetry Options

The kitchen is often the one place in your home that has the most unsightly appliances. You can remove them from sight by investing in your cabinetry. For example, a built-in refrigerator or dishwasher could remove some of the more unsavory aspects of these items in your kitchen. The cabinets themselves simply help to make your appliances blend in with the rest of your décor. Another option is to place your small kitchen appliances inside rollup or swing out cabinet doors.

Create Free Space

Some of the unsightly nature of your appliances can be mitigated by not drawing undue attention to them. Removing the clutter that can surround these appliances may help them to blend in better with the rest of your home. Another thing that can help your eyes to pass over them is to ensure that they look clean. Removing the dirt and stains can help them to appear seamless with the rest of your home. Taking these little steps could help to keep them disguised in plain sight.

Install Doors

Consider creating a closet for your water heater installation project is a great idea. Installing doors in order to block it from view can be advantageous. Installing a new water heater may make this task a little easier because you can essentially start over from scratch. You can size the space appropriately and not worry about causing damage to your exiting appliance. Another thing that this strategy can help with is that you may be able to relocate the appliance to a more out of the way spot.

Incorporate Storage

The entertainment sources around your home may also be a point of concern for you. There are steps that you can take that will allow you to hide these devices when they aren’t in use. Incorporating storage cabinets with doors that can be closed is one solution to this problem. Use storage baskets for all of your electronic devices with the back cut out so that they can still charge without having to be put on display. Having more storage around your home is never a bad thing. You don’t have to live with unsightly home appliances. Use these solutions so that you can hide these items around your home in plain sight.   Rachelle Wilber is a freelance writer living in the San Diego, California area.
