How to Make Your Living Room More Cozy and Inviting

One of the detriments of a beautiful home is how cozy and inviting it can be. There is nothing homey about a living room that does not bear the aura of comfort or one which creates an environment that is conducive for relaxation. After a long day, coming home to a living room that is comfortable and inviting would help melt away all the stress and anxiety from work.

Also, a cozy and inviting living room would be an added benefit if you enjoy having friends over. There are a lot of things that you can do that will make your living room feel really cozy. Here are a few of them:

Try to make the TV less of a distraction

This may seem like an impossible task in this screen age. However, it is very helpful if you love to have people over to talk and have a great time. Televisions and other technologies with a screen discourage people from having conversations.

Moving your TV to another room in the house like the den will make your living room be a place for actual living by giving room for conversations to grow.

If you can’t move your TV away, you can try concealing it behind a cabinet or simply cover it up. This way, you make the TV less of the focal point while making a stylish addition. Thus, making it more aesthetically pleasing and inviting.

Decorate the Living room with Plants

Plants add a natural type of beauty to a room that cannot be rivaled by anything else. Not only do they look good but they are great for purifying the air. Plants suck up the carbon dioxide produce oxygen when they respire. As a result, the air around the living room with plants in it is always fresh.

Having plants in your room is a small investment that can go a long way in making your living room cozier.

Add an Electric Fireplace

In older times, families gathered around fireplaces in their living rooms during the cold winter months to warm up and bond. Over time, fireplaces became an extravagant part of architecture as every house worth it’s salt had a fireplace. In more recent times, to protect against the fire hazard traditional fireplaces possess, electric fireplaces were invented.

Electric fireplaces give off that classic vibe that makes them as beautiful, cozy and realistic as the traditional ones. They produce heat and some of them simulate the crackling noise that an actual fireplace makes as the wood burns. Thus, giving the relaxing aura that an actual fireplace gives without having to worry about the smoke or the possibility of burning your house down. Don’t put your fans directly above your seats

If you must use a ceiling fan, make sure it is not directly placed over areas in the living room where the seats are. The fact that there are rotating blades spinning over the heads of your guests may make them uneasy even if the fans are securely anchored.

Instead, you can place your ceiling fan in an area central to the room or above the coffee table.

Throw in Some Throw pillows

This is possibly one of the easiest and least expensive ways to cozy up a living room. It will be used a lot during the cold winter months or by guests which do not like how cold your AC makes the room feel. Also, if they are arranged properly, they are aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Wrapping Up

The living room is that part of the house that is meant to be cozy and inviting. Using these tricks will help turn your living room into a comforting paradise.
