HURRY, HURRY – Urgent Casting Call for Unique Staging Stories and Case Studies

As you most likely know, Stagedhomes.com works closely with media outlets – television, radio, newspapers, magazines, bloggers, podcasters and many more – and we are often asked to contribute stories. Today we were asked to provide clever ideas and tips, as well as anecdotal stories about how you as Home Stager and/or REALTOR® made one important tweak to a house that helped it sell. The stories need to go beyond general tips people already know – this opportunity is for truly unique personal staging stories. Here’s an example: Most people are right handed so they walk into a house and look to the right first and they veer to the right first. If there’s something really ugly to the right like a wall heater that you can’t put a piece of art on, then you hit the left so hard with something beautiful that makes them turn to the left instead and they totally avoid seeing what was on the right. Think about topics such as
  • furniture placement
  • what kinds of accessories to add (maybe rolled-up towels in the bathroom or candles and how to group/arrange them)
  • turning a dead space into something appealing to home buyers
  • lighting tricks
  • how to make spaces feel bigger
  • using paint to spruce up a space
  • displaying art
  • adding flowers
  • making your kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms look their best
  • perking up outdoor spaces
If your contribution is selected your story and name will be prominently featured in a national magazine and the publicity value will be immense. I am personally always committed to making sure our hardworking ASPs® and ASPMs® receive recognition for their work and I hope you will take the opportunity to be part of this. Please know, however, Stagedhomes.com, and I, have no say in whether a story or idea will be selected – that’s up to the editorial team of the magazine. You must hurry, though! The magazine has given us tomorrow Monday end of business as the deadline for contributions. That’s not unusual as media outlets often need input quickly. Please write a BRIEF note with your story or suggestion or tip. You do not have to write a long outline, brief is good. We will then forwards the input to the editorial team of the magazine promptly.

  1. This is my Listing Presentation when asked “why stage”… About 30 years ago I became the second listing agent on a well priced, vacant, great location home in Long Beach,Ca. After two weeks and several showins, I decided the house was totally without spirit. I went home and brought back all of my live plants and placed them stragetically in the house. That week I received 4 offers. The seller asked me what I did and I said “You would not believe me….” I have been staging my homes ever since. When I moved to Bellingham and Worked for Douglas T. Gray Real Estate over 20 years ago, I met Barb, and we coined her technique “Barbarising” our listings. I now stage for other realtors with Becki Taylor and we have our own storage space. It is absolutely a necessary ingrediant
