The International Association of Home Staging Professionals® recently held its Accredited Staging Professional® 2014 IAHSP® Educational Conference on Whidbey Island, WA. The nonprofit organization capped off its three-day event by presenting Barb Schwarz with a Living Legacy Award for her endless contribution to the real estate and Home Staging industries.
Barb Schwarz has been honored with many achievement awards over the course of her 40-plus-year career in real estate and Home Staging. But perhaps the Living Legacy Award she received from IAHSP®, the professional Home Staging organization she created, means the most.
“I was so surprised and honored to receive this award. It means so much to me to be recognized for the work that I have loved to do for all these years. Home Staging is so important to the real estate industry and is so needed by every seller. The fact that this is understood and practiced more and more every year gives me such great pride,” said Barb.
Barb is The Creator of Home Staging®, having come up with the concept of preparing a home for sale and the term “Home Staging” in the early 1970s. As a successful Realtor®, she taught thousands of real estate agents how to prepare their listings for sale for top dollar, and she authored many books on real estate and Home Staging. In the 1990s Barb developed the Accredited Staging Professional® (ASP®) and Accredited Staging Professional Master® (ASPM®) courses and designations and began instructing individuals nationwide to correctly prepare homes for sale according to her proven methods. IAHSP® is the professional organization Barb created to ensure that Home Staging is performed by properly trained, accredited professionals. There are now ASPs® and ASPMs® in several countries around the world.
