Raising Awareness of Accredited Staging Professionals® and the International Association of Home Staging Professionals® through Traditional and New Media Outlets

During a recent conversation an Accredited Staging Professional® asked me what Stagedhomes.com does to promote Staging as well as ASP® and ASPM® members, and of course members of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals®, to news media. I thought I would share my response here at the Stagedhomes.com blog. Stagedhomes.com works tirelessly to get the word out about the impact of the work Accredited Staging Professionals® do for their clients. We do that by reaching out to both traditional news outlets such as newspapers and radio and television stations and networks. Additionally, we distribute information to non-traditional sources as well, such as to bloggers and podcasters. We also distribute articles ready to be published to REALTOR® associations, companies, industry groups, and of course vendors we work with. For years, Stagedhomes.com® and IAHSP® have worked closely with national and international media in order to educate about Staging, and of course spread the word about Accredited Staging Professionals® and the International Association of Home Staging Professionals®. And the work pays off! Virtually every day I receive emails and phone calls from a plethora of national and even international media outlets wanting to know about Staging. Here is a sample of the many newspapers, blogs, magazines, websites, radio and TV stations where I have recently been quoted speaking about Home Staging, ASPs® and IAHSPs®: Boston Globe, featuring ASPs® and IAHSP®; San Francisco Chronicle on ASP® Home Staging and how IAHSP® and ASPs® serve sellers through ASP® Home Staging; Wall Street Journal on Home Staging: Depersonalizing as a Sales Tool; Star Tribune in the article Designed to sell; and Denver Post on how ASP® Staging works for short sales, REPOs, and of course for all traditional transactions. I have also discussed Staging with several prominent national and statewide magazines including Smart Money Magazine on ASP® Home Staging; Florida Magazine about my Top 10 Staging Ideas; Money Magazine, discussing ASP® Stagedhomes.com & International Association of Home Staging Professionals® Directories; Where To Retire Magazine on ASP® Staging for Seniors; CRS Magazine about ASP® Staging and Real Estate Today; and the Real Estate Business Magazine on ASP® Home Staging & changes in today’s market. I was also recently interviewed by the Bay Area Relocation Magazine, Insiders Fall Guide, 2010 Edition, and by the National Association of REALTORS® for REALTOR® Magazine, an article scheduled to be published this coming summer. Additionally, I have recently been interviewed by a textbook company for college kids regarding ASP® Home Staging as a career choice as well as Zillow.com regarding ASP® Home Staging and why sellers need to Stage. Also, AOL interviewed me regarding Staging the outside of the house & Staging for seasons of the year. Another website where an interview is featured is HouseLogic.com where I helped educate the public and REALTORS® on how to select the right Stager. I have also taped several podcasts by the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®. In addition, I have hit the airwaves through interviews with the Real Estate Today Radio Show about ASP® Home Staging & Many Benefits for Agents & Sellers; KLAY Radio Show about ASP® Staging & the IAHSP Association; and FOX News on ASP® Home Staging for Consumers. Each month we also contact local and regional media around the many locations where Stagedhomes.com offers the Accredited Staging Professional® Courses, and we distribute information about the IAHSP Community Worldwide Staging Community Service Week™. Want to see more of the wonderful publicity we receive on behalf of ASPs® and IAHSP®? Please click here to visit the Stagedhomes.com® Media Center. How Media Attention Benefits You! You may wonder how all this publicity benefits you as an individual Accredited Staging Professional? While Staging certainly has gained a lot of ground since the early days when I created the concept of Staging, but many consumers, and even real estate industry professionals, are still not educated on the benefits of Staging homes. Each time an article is published we raise awareness of Staging in general, and of course Accredited Staging Professionals specifically. Each time I’m interviewed I always make a point to highlight our most current Staging statistics. Our most current statistics shows that 94% of homes Staged by an Accredited Staging Professional® sell in 29 days or less, compared to an average of 145 days for homes that are not Staged. Homes Staged by Accredited Staging Professionals® stay on the market 83% less time than a home that has not been staged. That information has a tremendous impact when it’s published as many consumers and even REALTORS® may not be aware what a difference Staging makes. I also always mention that Stagedhomes.com features both a national and international directory of Accredited Staging Professionals® and a director of Staged homes on the market. As you can see, the national and international publicity we receive helps you both indirectly, as more and more become educated on Staging, and directly when consumers and REALTORS® look for a Stager in their local market. It is my honor to always be working for you.
