Tell Us Your Success Stories

ASP-Logo_Transparent-BGVirtually every day I’m moved by the letters and emails I receive from ASPs® and ASPMs® around our nation and even the world. Some share that the directory of ASPs® and ASPMs® at was how they were found. Another common catalyst of their success is the many marketing ideas they continually receive at the Staging University® and at the blog. Nothing means more to me than to hear from ASPs® and ASPMs® sharing their success stories, and here is one I just received from Ede Bookstein of Artful Lodgings Staging in Seattle, WA. Ede is an ASP®, ASPM® and member of IAHSP®. She is also the Education/Ethics Chair for the Seattle IAHSP®. In 2007, Ede received the ASP Spirit Award. Here’s the wonderful note I received from Ede. Stager to the Stars! I’m so excited to tell you that I’ve been asked to Stage an apartment for America Ferrera. The young actress has already made a name for herself, winning an Emmy at age 23 for the hit show “Ugly Betty”. She also made a strong impression much earlier in the movie,”The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”. She will be in Seattle for a month, filming a movie – name to be blogged later – and she’s staying in a new condo on Capitol Hill. I have already Staged three Models in this condo so the owner called me to do this project. The logistics for this kind of project are different than the usual Stagings. If a Staging is going to be lived in, different choices are made both for the comfort of the occupant and the preservation of the Staging furnishings. No blow-up beds in this situation! Also, working with production interns, rather than seasoned experienced Stagers presents its own challenges. Are they prepared to do some schlepping? Are they used to taking care – of themselves and the furniture? As a former Stage Designer, I am used to managing volunteers so had to dust off that skill for this project. I also made a shopping list for the Production Designer so that there will be some home comforts in place initially when the actor arrives. Great fun! I’ll keep you posted. Thank you Ede for sharing and for doing great work for your clients.
